Discussion of the roles of soil and water microorganisms in the sustainability and productivity of various ecosystems; emphasis on plant-microbial interactions, nutrient cycling, degradation of pesticides and other xenobiotics, generation of trace gases, and soil and water quality. Prerequisite: Graduate classification or approval of instructor.
