Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Basic concepts in economic theory and analysis applied to health care delivery and financing in the United States; supply and demand issues for health services, market competition and public sector involvement; emphasis on issues of health insurance including adverse selection, moral hazard, underwriting, selective contracting, employer-sponsored health insurance, the Affordable Care Act, Medicare and Medicaid. Prerequisite: Graduate classification.
