Credits 6. 6 Other Hours. Introduction to clinical pharmacy practice in the managed care setting; designed to develop further the knowledge and understanding of the pharmacist’s role in formulary development and management, as a means of cost control and literature evaluation as it pertains to clinical decision making in specific patient cases; may be responsible for therapeutic class reviews, communication with patients, providers, and employer groups, evaluation, counseling and participation in the prior authorization process; development of skills necessary to be involved in Medication Therapy Management, using primary literature and cost-benefit analysis. Prerequisite: P4 classification.
