Fundamentals of rock mechanics; calculation of displacements and stresses of opening fractures; evaluation of stress shadow effects; investigation of local stress reorientation and fracture interaction; analysis of near-tip stresses; determination of fracture propagation direction; summary of hydraulic fracturing treatments and modeling in unconventional reservoirs. Prerequisite: Graduate classification.
