Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Engage with diverse scientific practices to critically examine how research is conducted, validated and disseminated across disciplines. Investigate foundational questions about knowledge production, legitimacy of methods and the social contexts shaping scholarship. Explore concepts such as epistemic exclusion, decolonial perspectives, researcher positionality and citational politics. Gain tools to interrogate assumptions underlying research practices. Consider best practices to engage in a critical orientation to scholarship. Prerequisites: Graduate classification; approval of instructor.
