Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Explore how cognitive processes are realized in the brain through the study of cognitive neuroscience. Learn core principles of neuroanatomy, neural function and research methods used to investigate brain-behavior relationships. Analyze how brain systems support mental functions such as perception, memory, attention, language, emotion and decision-making. Examine the effects of brain damage and neurological and psychological disorders on cognition. Develop skills to critically evaluate scientific literature and understand the biological basis of thought and behavior. Prerequisite: PBSI 235 .
