Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Explore the science of human cognition, focusing on how we perceive, attend to, remember and think about the world. Analyze core cognitive processes including perception, attention, memory, language, reasoning and decision-making. Examine foundational experiments, theoretical models and contemporary research in cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Develop skills to interpret empirical data, evaluate scientific claims and communicate original ideas. Apply cognitive principles to real-world challenges and gain insight into how thought and behavior are shaped by mental processes. Prerequisites: PBSI 107 ; PBSI 245 , MATH 140 , MATH 168 , MATH 142 , MATH 147 , MATH 151 , MATH 171 , MATH 152 , MATH 148 , MATH 172 , MATH 150 , PHIL 240 or STAT 201 ; PBSI 301 and PBSI 302 recommended.
