Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Explore how sensory systems and the brain work together to create perception. Analyze biological mechanisms, sensory physiology, psychological theories and neural mechanisms to explain how we experience the world through senses like vision, hearing, touch and chemical senses. Evaluate empirical research and major models of perception and assess their applications in science, policy and industry. Develop insight into how perceptual processes shape behavior and human experience and identify the limits of current scientific understanding. Prerequisites: PBSI 235 .
