Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Explore the psychological foundations of animal behavior through core topics such as learning, motivation and cognition. Analyze how hormones, neural systems and evolutionary pressures shape behavior across species. Examine complex behaviors including communication, mating, parenting, territoriality and social interaction. Apply psychological theory to understand movement, foraging and self-defense strategies. Investigate how animals perceive and respond to their environments and how behavior adapts to ecological challenges. Engage with foundational theories and current research to deepen understanding of how and why animals behave. Prerequisites: PBSI 107 , BIOL 111 or BIOL 113 .
