Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Explore the applied field of sport, exercise and performance psychology, examining how psychological principles influence physical performance, well-being and group and intergroup dynamics. Analyze core topics such as motivation, stress, anxiety, personality, leadership, team cohesion and psychological skills training. Investigate how these concepts apply not only to sport and exercise but also to broader performance domains including medicine, the performing arts, military, law enforcement and the workplace. Understand emerging career paths and applications of psychological science across diverse settings. Prerequisite: Junior or senior classification.
