Critical thinking and problem-solving strategies for care of persons with acute and/or complex illness and injury; examination of effects of acute illnesses in relation to the injury and in relation to the individual’s developmental stage, culture and gender. A holistic approach is used to analyze and intervene in alterations to the health of the individual and family and to help them reach their optimal level of wellness; includes a clinical component. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in NURS 332 and NURS 341 .
