Origins of electronic and optical (e-o) materials properties from their electronic and molecular structure; electron theory in solids; electronic transport and dielectric behavior; optical properties; tensor response; e-o material synthesis and characterization; e-o device applications. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in MSEN 325 or ECEN 370 ; or approval of instructor.
