Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Presentation of physical principles that drive evolution of materials that are not in thermodynamic equilibrium; covers reaction kinetics and transport by diffusion; applies fundamental principles to analysis of materials phenomena, such as nuclear decay, surface reactions, interdiffusion, nucleation and growth, and solidification. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in MSEN 210 .
