Credits 0 to 10. 0 to 10 Other Hours. Equips medical students with knowledge and skills to support survivors of sexual violence, covers dynamics of sexual assault, trauma reactions, trauma-informed care, includes crisis intervention, suicide assessment, role of advocates in medical forensic exams and law enforcement responses, emphasizes cultural competency, understanding special populations, ethical considerations, certification as a sexual assault advocate, serve as certified advocate throughout Texas. Prerequisites: Doctor of Medicine classification.
