Catalog description
Credits 0 to 10. 0 to 10 Other Hours. Exposure to the scope of health issues of patients who are indigent and lack access to health insurance; familiarization with various community organizations striving to improve the health of its underserved citizens; understand the importance of promoting public health and gain insight into the practice of preventive medicine and the impact it will have on patients' health in the future; clinical experiences will primarily be at the Baylor Community Care clinics, with some exposure to home visits with the home visit team; work with family medicine and internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, community health workers and social workers to understand the importance of a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
