Basics of geometrical and physical optics with an emphasis on topics that often arise in multidisciplinary engineering applications such as high-speed imaging, flow visualization, particle diagnostics, chemical sensing, materials characterization, precision measurements, and a host of other applications involving cameras and lasers; related fundamentals covered in-depth, while selected set of applications discussed to outline the depth and breadth of the field. Prerequisites: PHYS 206 or equivalent; senior classification.
