Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Overview of modern cryptography from a mathematical perspective including public key cryptosystems, digital signatures, identification, and secret sharing schemes; mathematical underpinnings include the quadratic sieve, elliptic curves over finite fields, and short vector problems in lattices. Prerequisites: Graduate classification, and MATH 409 and MATH 416 or equivalent; or approval of instructor.
