Catalog description

Credits 2. 2 Lecture Hours. This course trains students to design and execute rigorous applied analyses that address environmental, social, economic and/or policy challenges in coastal and marine social-ecological systems. Students integrate interdisciplinary theories, analytical methods and multiple evidence types to inform and evaluate management or policy options with defensible, decision-relevant insights. Learners apply ecological, social, economic and/or policy perspectives to craft analytic designs, assess management tradeoffs and communicate findings effectively to scientific, stakeholder and/or policy audiences. Prerequisites: 24 hours of MARM course credits completed, or in concurrent enrollment, approval of instructor.
