Exploration of the general process of armed conflicts with an emphasis on gender, beginning with an overview of feminist International Relations (IR) theory; topics include women’s participation in armed groups, sexual and gender-based violence during and after armed conflicts, gender reforms in the peacebuilding process, women’s access to justice, and women’s empowerment in a post-conflict society. Prerequisites: Graduate classification.
