Cyberspace Implications for National Security

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Examination of policy, norms, law and global governance frameworks relevant to state use (by the U.S. and others) of cyberspace and cyber capabilities, including cyber-enabled influence operations, in support of national security interests. This is not a technical course, but will provide the technical, legal and policy background necessary for students to understand, discuss and analyze relevant issues. Different approaches to cyberspace are illustrated through lessons focused on the cyber activities of Russia, PRC and other state actors. Prerequisite: Graduate classification.
