Awareness and appreciation of the nature of qualitative methods; widely used and contemporary qualitative approaches in hospitality and tourism research; challenge required to become fully proficient with the techniques; potential contribution to research promised by the selected qualitative methods; consideration of mixed methods to acquire skills for successful use of other methods such as survey. Prerequisites: HMGT 614 or approval of instructor; graduate classification.
