Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Familiarization with different types of legal records and legal databases used for research; sources related to American law from the colonial era to the present on both the state and the federal level; use of different legal resources and databases in order to find primary sources related to legislative debates, state and federal legislation, court transcripts, legal briefs, and court opinions; production of a publication length piece of scholarly writing, typically a chapter from an ongoing MA or PhD thesis, which includes legal research. Prerequisites: Graduate classification.
