Fundamental aspects of geologic mapping; field observation, data gathering and recording, use of a Brunton compass, pace-and-compass mapping, measurement of stratigraphic sections; topographic map use and interpretation, interpretation of geologic map patterns, construction of geologic cross sections; Integrating field and remote data to address geologic problems using GIS software; field trip fee charged at registration. Prerequisites: GEOL 101 and 102, or GEOL 104 , or GEOL 150 ; GEOL 152 .
