Current topics in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAVs, also known as drone) operations and their use in geographic information science and technology (GIST); legal and professional certification requirements; laws and regulations of drone-based data collection; platform and payload selection; safe flight planning and operations; data collection and processing; end-product creation, visualization and analysis; and preparation for the FAA Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Part 107 Certification Exam. Prerequisites: GEOG 390 ; junior or senior classification, or approval of instructor.
