Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. 0 Lab Hours. 0 Other Hours. This course explores the ethical principles, professional standards and legal responsibilities that guide practitioners in the forensic sciences. Students will examine case studies involving ethical dilemmas, professional misconduct and challenges unique to forensics, including consequences of past actions to future careers, issues of bias, evidence handling, expert testimony and the complex intersection of science and law. Prerequisite: FIVL or FIVS majors.
