Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Theoretical and analytical developments in security and strategy selection in portfolio management with an emphasis on absolute returns and from the perspective of a hedge fund manager; includes macroeconomic analysis and portfolio performance evaluation; concepts applied to the allocation of investments in one or more student-managed portfolios. The primary goal of this course is to teach students the fundamental principles of active investing in public markets by focusing on three core principles: long-short equity strategies, directional trading and risk management. Prerequisites: Junior or senior classification or approval of instructor.
