Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Study of selected poetry, drama and prose works of John Milton, with attention to historical, political, cultural and critical contexts. May also consider significant literary and/or philosophical texts that influenced Milton’s writing, as well as texts Milton’s writing in turn influenced. Instructors teaching this class will choose texts, assessments and approaches that represent current scholarship and satisfy course learning objectives. Prerequisite: 3 credits of literature at the 300-level; junior or senior classification.
