Catalog description
Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Exploration of some representative works illustrating the development of the novel by writers resident in Great Britain and its colonies (present or former) from the late nineteenth century forward. Students may encounter major authors and varied prose styles in the British literary tradition, including literature and criticism. Close reading, critical thinking and written communication will be prioritized. Instructors teaching this class will choose texts, assessments and approaches that represent current scholarship and satisfy course learning objectives. Prerequisite: Junior or senior classification.
