Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Production of advanced, complete stories; peer workshops; extensive reading. Students may encounter major authors and varied prose styles in established literary fiction writing, and the course may cover creative nonfiction and fiction. Close reading, critical thinking and written communication will be prioritized. Instructors teaching this class will choose texts, assessments and approaches that represent published creative work and satisfy course learning objectives. May be taken two times for credit. Prerequisites: ENGL 235 ; junior or senior classification or approval of instructor.
