Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. An exploration of the history, development, theory and practice of fairy tales, including traditional tales from writers such as Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm and modern fairy tale retellings in text, which may include long form genres, film and/or other media. Instructors teaching this class will choose texts, assessments and approaches that represent current scholarship and satisfy course learning objectives. Prerequisite: 3 credits of literature at 200-level or above.
