Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Introduction to the speculative and marvelous genres of literature; survey of genres such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, fairy tales and/or related media such as film with their respective genre concepts, narrative frameworks and significant authors and directors; examination of different methodological approaches and historical contexts. Instructors teaching this class will choose texts, assessments and approaches that represent current scholarship and satisfy course learning objectives.
