Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. An exploration of the graphic novel as a medium, with a focus on the form’s varieties, use of both textual and visual elements and impacts on our understanding of storytelling and artistic expression; analysis of texts in relation to social and cultural contexts, various theoretical lenses and/or scholarly engagements with graphic novels. Instructors teaching this class will choose texts, assessments and approaches that represent current scholarship and satisfy course learning objectives.
