Economics of Labor

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Analysis of how labor markets determine wages, employment and the allocation of labor across sectors; develops theoretical and empirical models of labor supply and labor demand to explain patterns of work and compensation; examines the role of human capital, discrimination, unions and labor-market institutions; topics may include minimum wages, taxation, social insurance and immigration. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in ECON 323 .
