Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Sound propagation, psychoacoustics, electroacoustics and architectural acoustics for the design and application of audio technology. Auditory system and audio perception concepts such as pitch, loudness, timbre, masking, apparent location. Speakers, microphones, and other electroacoustic transducers, enclosures and the mixers and the audio power amplifiers used to drive them. Architectural and environmental acoustics building acoustics, reflecting and absorbent materials, noise barriers, echoes, presence, reverberation, resonance. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in ECEN 314 and ECEN 325 ; junior or senior classification.
