Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Description of various ground improvement techniques and associated design guidelines; techniques include static and dynamic compaction, preloading, stone columns, vibro-replacement, drains, chemical stabilization for shallow and deep subsoils, grouting, native soil and fill reinforcement, soil nailing, thermal and electrical biological treatments, design and construction guidelines. Prerequisite: CVEN 365 or approval of instructor.
