Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Buckling and post-buckling strength of stiffened and unstiffened plate elements and members; torsional behavior and design of beams; stability of frames; frames subject to sidesway; bracing design; non-destructive evaluation and application of fracture mechanics principles to welded structures. Prerequisite: 3 credit hours of structural steel design or approval of instructor.
