Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Formulation and application of finite difference and finite element methods in geotechnical problems related to elasticity, plasticity, seepage, consolidation, dynamic response, and pile analysis; constitutive models of soil behavior; and analysis of nonlinear systems. Prerequisites: MEMA 646 or equivalent; CVEN 651 or registration therein.
