Credits 3. 2 Lecture Hours. 2 Lab Hours. Formulation and application of finite element and discrete element methods in solving geotechnical engineering problems related to seepage, diffusion, elasticity, plasticity, fracture and dynamic motion of soil masses, stability and convergence problems and use of existing computer programs in working applied problems. Prerequisite: Degree in engineering or approval of instructor.
