Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Applications of stress/deformation relationships to structural members subjected to axial, torsional and bending loading for both determinate and indeterminate members. Applications include thin-walled pressure vessels, shear and moment diagrams in beams, beam design, deflection of members and members subjected to combined loadings. Stability of columns. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in CVEN 221 , MEEN 221 , MEEN 225 , or AREN 221 ; also taught at Qatar campus.
