Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Investigation of interrelationships between structural integrity, behavior and failure mechanisms in building systems. Through case studies and applied theory in construction structures, students explore real-world structural failures to understand how design, construction and maintenance decisions affect performance and safety. The course emphasizes professional responsibility, diagnostic reasoning and failure prevention in construction practice. Prerequisites: Graduate classification in the Department of Construction Science.
