Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Fundamentals of optical spectroscopy and applications; quantum mechanical description of light-matter interaction, linear and nonlinear spectroscopy, optics and spectroscopic instrumentation, optical signal detection and data acquisition/ processing, applications of spectroscopic techniques in nanoscience. Prerequisite: CHEM 648 or approval of instructor.
