Catalog description
Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Introduction to quantum mechanics, exactly solvable model problems, many-electron systems, chemical bonding and the electronic structure of molecules, computational chemistry, interaction of radiation with matter, spectroscopy and related topics of physical chemistry. Applications to contemporary problems in science and technology. Only one of the following will satisfy the requirements for a degree: CHEM 321 or CHEM 327 . Prerequisites: MATH 152 or MATH 172 ; MATH 221 , MATH 251 or MATH 253 encouraged; PHYS 207 or equivalent.
