Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Microfabrication techniques for designing sensors and platforms for point-of-care diagnostics; technical understanding of biosensors and different integrated devices such as implantable, injectable and actuation systems; examination of various microfabrication processes for materials ranging from polymers to glass; topics include microfluidics, lithography, vapor deposition systems, laser micromachining and various characterization techniques; emphasis on processes as well as the application of these processes and techniques. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in BMEN 321 ; junior or senior classification.
