Application of engineering and biological principles in bioprocess systems design; design and scale up of upstream and downstream unit operations including bioreactors, sedimentation, centrifugation, membraned filtration, adsorption and produce formulation; bioprocess integration, scale up and sustainability assessment. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in BAEN 302 and BAEN 365 ; grade of C or better in BAEN 320 or concurrent enrollment.
