Catalog description

Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. 1 Lab Hour. Study of adolescents in a variety of school and community settings; overview of issues in secondary education and discussions around qualities of effective teaching. Exploration of issues related to professionalism, state standards, classroom management and effective instruction. This experience is designed to help students evaluate their interest in a secondary education career and serves as the recommended introductory course for aggieTEACH-Arts & Sciences. It assists in assessing a student's aptitude, foundational knowledge and initial skills for pursuing secondary teaching certification.
