Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Investigation of building materials and their relationship to structure, construction and tectonics in architecture; focus on applicable building codes, standards and cost considerations; understanding of building components and assemblies; roofs, walls, floors and stairs as systems; analysis of traditional and contemporary building technologies; communication of construction ideas through visual tools. Prerequisites: Graduate classification in architecture or approval of instructor.
