Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. Advanced instruction in the role of epigenetic regulation in mammalian species, with an emphasis on livestock; examination of how basic epigenetic mechanisms regulate gene expression and influence organismal development, disease, inter- and transgenerational inheritance in livestock; exploration of effect of environment on epigenetics in livestock; discussion of primary journal articles surveying current topics and methodologies in epigenetics. Prerequisites: Graduate classification.
