Entry-level theory of fluid mechanics with emphasis on viscous subsonic flows; governing principles and equations, exact solutions to simple problems of the Navier-Stokes equations, similarity solutions and boundary layer theory; flow stability, transition and turbulence. Prerequisite: Graduate classification and approval of instructor.
