Environmental Sociology

Catalog description

This course is designed to offer an advanced examination into the deeply rooted environmental inequalities present in the United States and internationally from a sociological perspective. In this course, students will examine how and why environmental problems are experienced differently due to race, gender, class, and other stratifying factors. Further, students will analyze environmental policy implications, legal issues related to environmental injustice, and connections between crime and criminality regarding environmental issues and injustices.
