This course provides students with an introduction to contemporary Latin American societies, with a focus on the impacts of colonialism, the Cold War, and globalization and how these vary across Central and South America and the Caribbean. It examines the evolution of cultural practices in the region and provides an overview of current issues in Latin American societies.
